Turkey's Real Estate Sales Increase by 32% in the First Half of 2020

Turkey's real estate sales increased by 32 percent in the first half of 2020, compared to the same period last year.

The Turkish Ministry of Environment and Urban Planning said in a statement on Monday that 581,798 houses were sold throughout Turkey during the first six months of 2020.

The statement pointed out that Istanbul came first among the Turkish cities in terms of selling real estate during the aforementioned period, with 95,271 houses sold.

The Esenyurt district had a triple increase where 12,983 homes were sold,  4,872 houses were sold in Pendik, 4,836 were sold in Sanjak Tepe, 4,830 in Basaksehir, and 4,328 in Beylikduzu.

The capital, Ankara, came second with 64,052, and Izmir third with 36,651.

The state treasury earned during the mentioned period entered 7 billion and 792 million Turkish liras (equivalent to 1.3 billion US dollars) of real estate sales.
